Guest speaker Shannon Higbee will address the topic of loneliness in a talk on Monday, Nov. 11.

Ms. Higbee is the CEO of Recovery Options Made Easy (ROME). Her talk, “Loneliness: a Public Health Crisis,” is slated for 6 p.m. in the Kelly Family Auditorium in the Science Center.

Higbee has worked in the non-profit field for over 19 years, starting her career at a private school in western New York, teaching secondary English and serving as the school’s Director of Development.

She transitioned into working in the mental health field in 2016 at ROME beginning in the organization’s Housing Department and in several other roles. 

The organization is a leader in peer-run crisis supports in western New York, operating multiple peer run crisis respites, contributing to regional mobile crisis teams, and developing innovative crisis centers.
