Fredonia Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP)

The Fredonia Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is one of 117 STEP projects across New York State, funded by the New York State Department of Education鈥檚 Office of Postsecondary Access, Support, and Success (OPASS). This program seeks to increase the number of historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged students in grades 7-12.

Mission:

To increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students prepared to enter college, and improve their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and the licensed professions.

Students Served:

  • Students in grades 7-12; who identify in a minority population(s) and/or; are identified as economically disadvantaged 
  • Currently serving 107 students; goal 200
